The Desire To Express

When was the last time you got too emotional or felt something too strongly in your life? What were those emotions like? Did you ever feel the need to express those?

Yes! You got it right, I am talking about “Self Expression”. It is the articulation of our thoughts, feelings, ideas, and emotions.

In today's “Diversified World”, there are numerous ways in which we could express ourselves. Sometimes we forget to acknowledge our own potential and capabilities, which has helped us in creating many opportunities for ourselves to express of how we feel about ourselves and this world.

The Art of Self-Expression

“We are all gifted with unique talents”.

A “Writer” expresses himself through his “Writings”, whereas a “Musician” expresses his emotions through his “Music”. An “Architect” is leaned to articulate himself through his “Creative Constructed Buildings”, whereas an “Actor” through his “Entertaining Plays”. A “Photographer” captures and shows his feelings through his “Photography”, whereas a “Dancer” through his “Graceful Moves”. A “Model” through his “Elegant Lifestyle and Fashion”, whereas as a “Chef” expresses his joy and love through his astonishingly garnished food dishes.

We also reveal our emotions through the variety of everyday decisions that we make for ourselves, e.g. the clothes that we plan to wear or the food that we want to eat at today’s lunch. Though our decisions sometimes do not explicitly manifests our desire, but it still exhibits our emotions in a certain way.

Why is There a Desire?

We still haven’t understood the intuition behind this desire. Why expressing our “True Selves” has become so desirable and is so important for us? Where does it comes from? Is it a result of our own greed for gaining recognition or having enough undivided attention?

No, it is absolutely not. This desire comes from our very own inclination to feel free, to feel accomplished. It is about being ourselves every single time.

“We choose ways to express our feelings, and those ways define our freedom”.

Following something that we aren’t passionate about will never allow us to fully express ourselves, and later we are going to feel trapped under our own unexpressed emotions.

What Stops Us?

We are “Stupid” enough to confuse our desire with our own greed, something which stops us from expressing our “True Selves”. We must accept the truth that we aren’t greedy of gaining any recognition or having any undivided attention. We express ourselves because we want to feel free and create a deeper sense of fulfillment within ourselves.

Another thing which stops us are the judgments of other people. We all fear these judgments. We often imagine that our self-expression might harm the other person’s beliefs and so we prevent ourselves from expressing of what we truly believe in. It makes us much more reluctant in expressing our own values.

 Me?!

I have chosen writing as a medium to express myself, to express my thoughts, ideas, feelings, and emotions. I am not saying that I am better than everybody else, but writing is still my passion because it speaks my freedom and it is above all other occupations and activities.

My intention behind writing this blog is to make you guys believe in the numerous opportunities through which we could express ourselves. We must not miss out on these opportunities and should express of who we truly are.

“The world doesn’t needs an another Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. It needs you”.
