Challenge Your Fears.
We all have got some sort of fear in ourselves that
holds us back, holds us back in our careers, in our relationships, in achieving
our dreams etc. There are different kinds of fear that people hold, fear of
rejection, fear of loneliness, fear of judgment, fear of failure, fear of
poverty, fear of God etc. They are countless. But before going into any details
let’s just learn of what exactly “Fear”
is.
What Is This Fear?
According to psychology, “fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat which ultimately causes a change in behavior”. If I was been asked to rephrase this statement, I would have simply said that fear is something which only exists in our thoughts, it’s the product of our imagination, something which is not real.
My Greatest Fear
I remember one of my friends asked me to tell him about my greatest fear, I replied “Fear of loneliness”. Well, I haven’t made much friends in college so it’s a bit strange of why I have got this kind of a fear. This fear follows me when I imagine living in a world without having my family. But I have never ever allowed my fears to be my weakness, instead I have always used it to gain more strength, more courage, and more confidence.
This is only achievable when you overcome your fears, and to overcome your fears you always have to face them. You need to take control over things you are scared of.
“You can either allow your fears to destroy you or to create you”.
(Ben Lionel Scott)
“You have been gifted with a physical body to do something and a mental capacity to believe in it”. (Ben Lionel Scott)
So stop making excuses, go out, and take the step.
Imagine how a soldier gets courage to fight at the border, he faces and overcomes his fear of getting killed and leaving his family in lone. Imagine how an investor gets nerves to take risky decisions regarding investment, he takes the step and overcomes his fear of losing out all his money. Reckon how a tennis player stays motivated throughout the game and a student while giving his exams, they both master their fears of failure.
“Behind every fear is a person you want to be”.
(Ben Lionel Scott)
A Great Example
J. k. Rowling, the most compassionate and creative authors of all times, was nearly penniless and severely depressed before she published her first novel of the Harry Potter series. She feared poverty and loneliness, and raised a child on her own. But a single mother faced all of her fears, and through hard work and determination Rowling eventually went from depending on welfare to survive to being one of the richest women in the world in a span of only 5 years.
I hope this blog provides you a leading passage and motivates you to stop making any more excuses and justifications in facing and overcoming yours fears and getting closer to your dreams.
